Atmateshwar (Atmateshwar) Mahadev Temple

According to legend, Lord Brahma himself established this temple to appease Lord Shiva after unintentionally insulting him at the great Pushkar yagna. The underground shrine houses a five-faced white marble Shivling โ€” the five faces (Sadyojat, Vamdev, Aghor, Tatpurush, Ishan) represent the five elements and four cardinal directions. Destroyed during Aurangzeb's rule and later restored, the temple remains a peaceful haven for devotees. Unmarried girls perform special milk and honey abhishekam here, believing it grants them an ideal husband.
